Do you ever get the feeling that no-one gets you? I geuss it's a pretty regular teenage thing but that doesn't make it anymore fun. I wish people were aware how much effort you put into things. I try so hard to help everyone around me and then people complain that I don't listen and I'm reserved. I'd love to just be totally dramatic and selfish for just one day, so people saw what they were missing. But I can't, cause I don't try so hard just for appearences sake, I actually care about everyone around me. I care about my friends, the prefects, the moth trapped in my room and that guy in class who say's I'm ugly. They're all still alive and I respect them. They might make me angry but I'll still try to help them. Sometimes I worry that my idea of helping makes things worse. I geuss I have to try.
In spite of all this I still wished they noticed, a tutor complimented me today but said
Feeling a Little Emo...

"I think, you need to consider listening more to others, taking into account their needs... "
That hurt a little. I think that I do my best to always put others first, always. I do everything within my power from making sure no-one has to walk to music prac alone, to make sure that everyone who needs math help gets it, to give everyone a shoulder, to be there...
Am I really failing at it so badly?

no, my darling, you are not. not at all. but people as a rule are selfish - they focus on what they want from you right NOW, rather than what you have done for them in the past.
At the end of the day you can only do the best YOU can do, not the best other people think you should be doing. And trust me bubba, your best is ALWAYS good enough, always. You are one of the kindest, sweetest, most caring people I have ever met, your empathy hurts so much sometimes it kills you. Never let anyone tell you you are not doing enough for them - they're lucky to know your name, let alone have you in their lives.
I love you baby.
Nah, don't let 'em get to you. You're completely right about how we (teenagers) all go through this at some point. I'm kinda going through it right now, too. You're not alone. :D Good luck, by the way!
